Proposed Switch Trail $7.3 million investment could generate an annual $30 million economic impact

An estimated $7.3 million for a three-block urban pedestrian trail could spark an estimated $30 million economic impact every year.

The Switch Trail positioned at the core of Birmingham’s Innovation District on the west side of Downtown is nestled between the Financial, Civil Rights and Parkside District.  Once completed, the Switch Trail is expected to attract up to 45,000 annual visitors and spur more than $20 million in building repurposing for up to 80 new technology and hospitality jobs.
